It's the 1st Annual Family Fun Day at the Boys and Girls Club of the Big Island Hilo Location off of Hali Street near Downtown Hilo. Great interview with Master Lei Maker Hilo native Aunty Doreen Henderson. She and her students, collectively known as Lei Hulu of Hilo, have produced a masterful display of feather pieces in the patience-exacting old Hawaiian style. Come marvel at lei hulu, kāhili (royal feather standards), 'ulī'ulī (feather gourds) and 'ahu'ula (feather capes). Participants will learn to make a feather flower. Regular museum admission applies.
